"Thank you again for doing such a beautiful job on Tonka's portrait. Our friends John and Celeste were very touched. They absoutely love it.

They have a whole bunch of cats, so maybe they'll decide to commission a series!"

My Woodcuts Go International!

"I am really captured by your image of the donkey.
It just totally captures the donkey character and charm."
--Linda Jay, Festival Organizer

Recently two of my woodblock prints appeared in international advertising! My donkey traveled to Victoria, AUSTRALIA, and my boar is in Quebec, CANADA.

I like the fact that this ginger Tom (who adopted us during our time in Brunswick, Georgia) has more that one orientation. Which one do you like best?

I collaborated with Horsepower Farm in Penobscot, Maine, this year as part of the Reversing Falls Sanctuary Farm/Arts Exchange (http://www.reversingfalls.org/farmarts-exchange-2014).

Paul, Andy, and Donna Birdsall of Horsepower Farm (http://www.uniquemainefarms.com/uniquemainefarms.com/Horsepower_Farm.html)
were great to work with and to get to know.

There was a fabulous exhibit of farm art at the Sanctuary last August.

Coyotes

They hug the margins of fields,
slip into creases between trees,
glide across gravel roads at dawn or dusk,
bellies close to the ground, tails
trailing. We hardly know they are here, think
all of this is ours – the property, the shorefront,
the view – until moonless nights
when a choir of coyotes sings to the stars
and one paces the length of our driveway
leaving tracks in the snow and scat
where the dog and I are sure to find it.

Leslie Moore

I've been doing coyote art work and poetry for the last couple of years, encouraged by Geri Vistein, a Maine conservation biologist (www.coyotelivesinmaine.com) who is on a one-woman crusade to save coyotes from human predation. She gives fascinating talks all over the state and she has arrangeda series of coyote art exhibits, which have included my coyote art work. Currently "Coyote Connections" is hanging in the University of New England Art Gallery (www.une.edu/artgallery/exhibitions).

Georgia

Georgia
5" X 7" colored pen and ink
2012

Georgia is a "found" dog. My nephew Mark found her in the wilds of -- Guess where? -- Georgia. She's a German short-haired pointer, chocolate brown with a white star on her chest. She may have been a bird dog in another life. Now she's a family dog and a star to those who love her.
